You can make your own content available to anyone with Kazaa. It's simple:

1. Drag and drop a file you have created and own, or that’s in the public domain, into the Magnet Link Builder.

2. Add a fallback URL (the Internet address of the location of a web server where the file is stored and can be downloaded from, if the file is not yet shared on P2P).

3. Paste the link that is generated on to your blog, web site or emails.

Users will download the linked file directly to their P2P shared folder. Once enough P2P users have your file, users who don’t yet have it will be able to download it directly from the users who do have the file, rather than from your web server - saving you money on bandwidth costs!

Previous to Magnet Links, content owners had to host all downloadable files and pay the fees for all bandwidth incurred when users download them. If a particular file or set of files proved popular, the owner’s bandwidth bill would rise proportionally. Magnet Links solve this issue by allowing the content owners to move their distribution method for media files to the much more economical p2p model.

Magnet Links can also be used to initiate P2P file searches.

Sending Magnet Links via IM and Email
If you find a file you'd like to share with a friend instantly, you can now send it to your friend via email or via Instant Message in Skype. Before sending a file, specify a Fallback URL using the right click Magnet Fallback Option. Just go to 'My Kazaa' and then right mouse click on the file and select the 'Send Magnet Link'. Enter your friend's email address or select the Skype contact to sent to and if they've got Kazaa too, they can download the file with one click!

If emailing a Magnet Link, please note: This feature only works for users running Outlook Express or Outlook.
