Downloading

Once you have found a file that you want, you need to download it from another user (or users). Downloading means transferring the file from their computer to your computer using peer-to-peer technology.

There are three ways you can download a file from the ‘Search’ view:

  1. Double click the file by quickly tapping your left mouse button twice.
  2. Select the file and click the 'Download' icon in the second toolbar.
  3. Right mouse click on the file and select 'Download' with the left mouse button. You could alternatively select 'Download and Open' which means that when the file is completed, it will be opened automatically.

If you do one of these three things you will notice that the icon next to the file changes.

This shows that the file has now been added to your 'Downloading' list which can be viewed in the 'Traffic' window. If the icon does not change, try again.

You can select multiple files to download at once, but how many are actually active at any one time depends upon your 'Traffic settings'.

Once you have added the files that you want to the download list from your current search results, you can do a new search and add more files.
