The Guide - The Glossary - Skins

Skins

You are able to change the way Kazaa looks by changing the skin. ‘Skins’ is a term used to describe the practice of applying new colors and graphics to a standard application - i.e. give it a new 'skin'.

How to change your skin?

      1. Click on the ‘Tools’ menu and select 'Options'.
      2. Select the 'Skins' tab in the ‘Options’ window.
      3. Click on the radio button next to word 'Skin'.
      4. Click on the drop box (small black triangle) to display the list of available skins.
      5. Select the skin you would like to use.
      6. Click the 'Apply' button to see how the skin looks. If you don't like the one you have applied, select another and, click 'Apply' again after each selection.
      7. Click 'OK' when you are happy with your skin selection. Your Kazaa application will then take the appearance of the new skin.

More Skins?

Skin packs can be found by going to the Kazaa Skins page and selecting the skin you want. This will initiate a download of the file which can be monitored in 'Traffic' view.
After it is downloaded, open/run the file to install that skin and apply the skin to see how it looks.

Designing your own skins

If you are a hard core skin designer, you may be able to make one without much help. Just create new images and make sure all prerequisites are included. For those of you who are new to skin creation, we have developed a tutorial and developers kit to help you get going.
