Why can't I play a media file or why do I get a ‘Player Error’ when trying to play a media file?

There are several reasons that this may happen:

  • You don't have the software on your computer to properly view the file. Kazaa relies on Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer to view files. Ensure you have the latest versions of these products installed.
  • You don't have the Codec you need to play the file. Codecs are different systems of encoding sound or video files. Upgrading to the latest version of Windows Media Player and installing the latest version of QuickTime will ensure you have the most popular Codecs installed on your system.
