To install Kazaa Media Desktop (KMD) you will need to
download the install file. Go to the download
page and click on Download v2.6. This
link will take you to download.com, the only authorized
distributor of Kazaa Media Desktop. Click on the ‘Download
Now’ link
and download the install file, taking note of the directory
you save the file to.
Once the download is complete, use Windows Explorer to
locate the install file. If you can’t find it search for
kmd260_en.exe. Once you have located the file, double click
on it to kick off the installation program. The installation
program will guide you through the following five step
process:
- Read the welcome note and click on the ‘Next’ button. The ‘Next’ button
is a round, green button located in the bottom right
hand corner of the installer.
- Step two explains exactly what you are about to install.
Read this text carefully. You must read and agree to
all the license terms before installing the software.
Once you have read and agree to the terms, click on the
green check box and click on the ‘Next’ button.
- Step three allows you to select the directory you would like to install Kazaa Media Desktop to. The default is Program Files\Kazaa. If you would like to change this directory, click on the browse button. Carefully read each of the options on the page. If you would like to change any of the default options, click on the corresponding check box. Once you have selected your preferred options click on the ‘Next’ button.
- Step four displays the download progress bar. The amount
of time it takes to download the file depends on the
speed of your Internet connection.
- That’s it. The installation is complete. Click on the ‘Launch KMD’ button
to start using Kazaa Media Desktop.
If you would like to go back at any point in the process,
click on the ‘Back’ button. You’ll find the ‘Back’ button to the left of the ‘Next’ button.
