Amy Whinehouse - Fresh Raw Talent

Contemporary, Jazz, Soul

You can fall in love with Amy Whitehouse from just hearing her voice. She's that good. Best Album, Best Performance, Best New Artist, Best Song and Best Pop Vocal - Five Grammies in one night. Amy's personal problems - she never met a drug she didn't like- have never eclipsed her incredible talent. On screen she's hypnotic and on radio you just have to turn up the volume, and it's not just her voice, her lyrics are great enough to be analyzed at University as Poetry, and her music is fresh, catchy and unique. 'Rehab', 'You know I'm No Good' and 'Valerie' are just a taste of some of the best songs to come out of England in the last ten years.

Amy is bringing a rebellious Rock and Roll spirit back to popular music says her producer Mark Ronsen. Her ultra cool look, brutal honesty and her 'I don’t give a crap' attitude are a refreshing reminder of Rock's rebellious origins. If she wasn't so good, her reputation would have destroyed her career long ago. But she is that good. Go to Kazaa now and hear for yourself. Born 14 September 1983 in Enfield, England, - before Amy the town was famous for producing the first colour TV's, Dishwashers and ATM's. At age 13 she got her first guitar and by sixteen she was performing in local clubs. At 19 she recorded her first album 'Frank' named after her pet dog. This was released in 2003 in the UK (and 2007 in the US) and is widely recognized as an excellent debut album with sales over 2 million. 'Back to Black', her second album released in October 2006, with singles 'Rehab', and 'You know I'm No Good' lead the way to five Grammy awards in 2008 - a new record for a British female artist. Her controversial lifestyle has lead to much media criticism, but her unique raw innovative style is the best thing we've heard in years.
