U.S Chart Records are Set to be Broken

History Beckons for The Black Eyed Peas

The Black Eyed Peas are set to become only the third artists to spend 16 weeks on top of the U.S singles charts. The songs “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” have combined spent 15 weeks there. The later is expected to put the group on par with Boys 2 Men and Mariah Carey as the record holders.

The album The E.N.D. is currently sitting at No.5 on the charts but had previously be on top of the charts. The run is set to continue for the Peas as they have more singles to release. While the feat is impressive, the effort of Boys 2 Men in achieving this twice may never be attained by another artist. The Black Eyed Peas look the more likely to repeat that success as Mariah Carey’s career is floundering and looks set to join her acting career – in the bargain bin.
